Contemporary ceramic sculptures
She studied ceramic Design at the National Applied Arts School Olivier de Serres in Paris and did an apprenticeship of 3 months at the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufacture (Germany).
She then developed her personal Art project at the Maison de Terre in Dieulefit and trained with famous French ceramists such as Claire Bogino, Anne Bulliot, Edmee Delsol, Bernard Dejonghe and Herve Rousseau.
she set-up a studio and had her first solo exhibition in the Paris Region.
After receiving the first prize at the international ceramic biennale of Alcora in Spain, in 2004, she moved to South Africa where she continued her ceramic work, finding new inspirations and opportunities.
she received the Excellence award at the Regional exhibition of the Eastern-Cape (South Africa) and the Premier award at the Ceramics Southern Africa – Corobrick exhibition.
By combining elements of Nature with porcelain I create fossil-like sculptures showing the memory of the clay. In my work, I focus on the making process rather than an aesthetically pleasing result.I am not remaking Nature in porcelain but using it directly and keeping a trace of it. My delicate sculptures raise the question of the fragility of our existence and the importance of subtlety and details. People need to observe the pieces closely to understand and appreciate what they are about. This personal interaction, almost introspective is another aim of my work.
